Drug Benefit Options
3 Tier Copay
With this benefit, you pay a copay, or fixed dollar amount, for your prescription drugs. You will receive a better benefit if you are taking a drug on the Preferred Drug List. For example, copays for generic drugs that are on the Preferred Drug List are typically $11, brand name drugs that are on the PDL are typically $40, and drugs that are not on the preferred drug list are typically $65. Any drugs that are on the Specialty Drug List are typically a 20% coinsurance with a $200 maximum.

Coinsurance
With this benefit, prescription drugs must be on the Medica preferred drug list in order for you to receive any coverage. You pay a percentage coinsurance for drugs that are on the Preferred Drug List. For example, you will pay a 25% coinsurance for drugs on the Preferred Drug List. Any drugs that are on the Specialty Drug List may be a 25% coinsurance with a $200 maximum. There is no coverage for drugs that are not on the PDL.
