What is the relationship between MCHA and Medica?
Medica is the writing carrier (administrator) for MCHA. The current writing carrier contract runs from January 1, 2004 through December 31, 2011. Medica is a Minnesota based health plan that provides access to a statewide provider network and services. Medica is responsible for administrative services, customer service and care management. Medica serves over one million members.

Are you eligible for health insurance coverage in the private market?
If you've been turned down for coverage in the private market, but your overall health has improved and you've had few or no claims in the past several years, you may now qualify for traditional health coverage.

My Health Manager from MedicaSM
Learn to live a healthier lifestyle and improve your overall wellbeing with My Health Manager from Medica. This program has something for everyone -- young and old, healthy and those managing chronic diseases (MCHA members must be 18 years of age to participate.) Take a personal wellness assessment, find nutrition information, participate in online seminars, and much more. You can even earn $100 in gift cards each year by earning wellness credits.

Senior LinkAge Line® is a free telephone information-and-assistance service which makes it easy for seniors and their families to find community services.With a single call, you can find services near you or get help evaluating your situation to determine what service might be helpful. Center for Healthy Aging
Our exclusive Center for Healthy Aging is a comprehensive resource dedicated to supporting the needs of MCHA's Medicare members. We can help you find a plan that fits your needs, and once you are a member, help you get the most out of your health plan. As the health care resource for the Medicare population, the Center's dedicated customer service staff is sensitive to the special needs of seniors and those living with a disability.

More Medicare Resources
As a Medicare member, you can also obtain information about the Medicare Program and Medicare health plans by visiting the official Medicare Web site. The Web site has a wealth of information on options available to you to supplement your Medicare benefits and Part D prescription drug coverage options.
