Medical equipment that can stand repeated use and is generally used at home by the patient.


What are the ways that this is covered? 
  • Eligible DME items are covered as Durable Medical Equipment

Where do I find out how this will be covered with my benefit plan?
  • To find out if your item is eligible, please call Customer Service at the phone number on the back of your ID card.
  • DME benefits will be found under the Durable Medical Equipment section of your benefit document.

Things to remember

  • You will need a prescription from your provider in order to have any coverage for your DME item.
  • Eligible DME items need to be obtained from a network DME vendor. You can find network DME vendors at Find a Doctor.
  • DME items are elgible to be replaced when made necessary by normal wear and use. Speak to your DME vendor for more information about whether your item can be repaired or replaced if necessary.
  • Disposable supplies and duplicate items are not covered.
